Jude Chow 周治平

Deputy Chairman

Mr Jude Chow is the Founder & CEO of AEL (International Holdings) Limited. In his early years in Australia, Mr Chow had extensive exposure to large-scale construction engineering, airport engineering, and environmental engineering projects. He then took up a regional position in a German technology company and was responsible for projects across 13 countries in the Asia Pacific. After joining AEL, he has led the company to sustainable growth from developing new products and entering into new markets, including Belt and Road countries. He is now working with partners from Europe, local research institutes and universities to build a waste-to-energy solution for the Asian Market. He is also dedicated to contributing to society with active participation in voluntary work and being a mentor for the City University of Hong Kong’s School of Energy and Environment, as well as the promotion of sustainability by representing the industry to liaise with Government and overseas counterparts.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

I hope to raise awareness of the waste problem in Hong Kong and for the Hong Kong’s Industrial SME to adopt ESG.

Dr. Kin Ho

Head of Research and Development

Dr Kin Ho is currently Head of Research and Development at AEL (International Holdings) Limited. Prior to joining AEL Intl, Dr Ho has worked for various research institute where he developed a first-ever and novel food waste pretreatment solution, Food TranSmarter, to liquify food waste into slurry. He obtained the PhD degree in Chemistry at The University of Hong Kong. With more than 10 years of experiences in research and development, Kin now leads the team in developing products and solutions on food waste recycling.

Dennis Kwan

CEO

Dennis Kwan is the co-founder and CEO of QBS, a leading IoT company and venture builder based in Hong Kong. He has over 15 years of experience in IT, especially IoT, product and project management. He was also the CTO of Cafe X Technologies, a joint venture company that operates robotic cafes with sensor technologies and cloud-based systems.

Mr. Kwan is passionate about researching and developing IoT solutions for smart buildings, greentech, foodtech, and smart city applications. He has led and implemented large-scale projects in Hong Kong such as WEEE, Zero Carbon Park, etc. He has also won numerous awards for his innovation and excellence in Internet of Things.

Mr. Kwan holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Information System from the University in UK, where he graduated with first-class honours and received several prizes and scholarships. He is also an executive committee member of the HKRTIA (Hong Kong Retail Technology Industry Association) as well as member of Housing Lab.

My Sustainability Goals for 2023:

  • Empowering our IoT technology to help achieve sustainability goals, such as reducing energy consumption, water usage, carbon emissions, and material waste.
  • Smart buildings: optimize lighting, heating, cooling, and ventilation based on occupancy and environmental conditions.
  • Smart waste management – tracking, recycling

Alexis Lau

Head of Division of Environment and Sustainability

Prof. Alexis Lau is the Head and Chair Professor of Division of Environment and Sustainability, Chair Professor of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Institute for the Environment at HKUST. His research specializes in Air Quality, Health Exposure, Weather and Climate. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Group of the WHO Panel on the development of a Global Platform on Air Quality and Health.

Phyllis Ng

CEO

Ms. Ng has over 28 years of experience in the integrated environmental services industry, with a seasoned background in waste management and recycling in Hong Kong.

She is the Vice Chairman at Environmental Industries Council of Federation of Hong Kong Industries, and the founding member of Sustainable Procurement Charter of Green Council.
